Product Designers use their visual and user interface design skills, user-centered design principles, along with typography, illustration, iconography, color, and composition to help our users navigate our product while engaging and inspiring them. You report to the Vice President of Product in Santa Monica, CA.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Senior Director of Design to lead our next-generation auto platform. You will set the design vision, strategy, workflow and team structure to achieve outstanding design status. You will also create an environment of interactive collaboration between designers and the product and engineering teams. You will also establish a clear culture, attracting the best design talent, and delivering amazing customer experiences.

• Champion, mentor and lead the product design team, creating a user-centered culture
• Create a culture of inspiration, insight, and authority on design and user experience
• Establish an outstanding design practice that incorporates the development of best practices to develop workflows that accelerate the ideation process, and promote a positive, inclusive environment.
• Partner with product, engineering, analytics to influence and accelerate the creation, development, and iteration of our products. Champion fast iteration, deep user research, and broad experimentation
• Provide design direction, mentor and promote the product development process that raises our product execution, product quality while scaling a team.
• Manage scope, direction and delivery of user flows, information architecture, UX copy, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design.
• Oversee a Design strategy that includes conducting high-quality research that puts the member at the heart of the decision-making process

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience designing digital consumer products at small and large, outstanding design-focused companies
• Hire and retain versatile design teams
• Experience managing a UX team across multiple disciplines; UI, UX, Content, Research, and Behavioral Science
• Experience balancing process and productivity with creative explorations. Emphasis on early prototyping, iterative cycles, and learning
• A passion for accelerating team efficiency by improving processes and workflows within the design team
• Hands-on with design work
• Proficiency in Sketch/Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Keynote/Google Slides, and prototyping tool(s)
