What We’re Looking For:

Our ideal candidate is an experienced Product Designer who’s skill sets live at the intersection of UX and UI design with a true expertise in interface design. This person has the ability to lead a small team of fellow designers, to thoughtfully delegate tasks, and act as a strong collaborator with the company as a whole. They must be a relentless self-evaluator with a tireless drive toward growth and execution.

This role will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with our clients and serve as the liaison between our design team and client stakeholders — so strong communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate will be able to thoughtfully delegate tasks and use our Delivery Team’s time wisely.

Prior experience with a small company in a startup or agency environment is a plus. When hiring for this role, we are considering both full-time and part-time applicants.

Responsibilities:

  • Our next Product Designer not only has a great eye for design but can also help drive products from inception to completion. Responsibilities include:
  • Create high-quality experiences that achieve uniformity and a high-level of polish
  • Create and expand branding throughout the products and experiences that you create
  • Produce prototypes and wireframes of various fidelities for iOS, Android, and web-based platforms to efficiently produce deliverables that makes significant progress towards client product alignment AND complete development handoff
  • Be a key participant in, and sometimes co-lead, various interactive workshops with clients and team members to uncover insights, bridge gaps, reveal new perspectives, and generate ideas; bonus if this candidate is able to lead and facilitate these activities
  • Conduct user research to learn more about user goals, pain points, and current workflows
  • Lead concept reviews and facilitate feedback with team members and clients alike so that all are on board and can properly understand and give feedback
  • Interface directly with clients, build trust with those clients, and clearly communicate their needs back to the design team for proper execution of their vision
  • Find, utilize and maintain a roster of part-time and contract resources to fill any design team needs that are beyond the capabilities of our full-time team
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the deliverable dates you
  • Work with product managers and business development team members to provide deliverable estimates, develop project plans, and create timelines for projects
  • Consistently self-evaluate your own work and the work of your fellow designers

Qualifications:
We’re looking for an experienced veteran who also has a pair of wide eyes and a hunger to keep growing and developing. They must also have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a role that blends both UI and UX design concepts (solid mid-level)
  • 2 years of experience at an agency or in a role that requires balancing multiple projects or relevant experience (freelance, multiple clients, etc.)
  • 1 year of experience in a client facing role or in a role that’s commonly interfacing with lead stakeholders on a project
  • Proven track record of being a great communicator and a strong team member
  • Expertise in UI design and proficiency in common UX standards and concepts
  • Experience designing projects for web & mobile applications that leverage emerging technologies
  • Understanding of web & mobile app development and general project management practices
  • The ability to think big, go beyond just wireframes, and consider the whole experience
  • Experience with at least three of the following prototyping tools: InVision, Zeplin, Principle, Framer.js, proto.io, After Effects, etc.
  • Exposure to client workshops, brainstorming sessions or other design thinking activities
  • Familiarity with full stack projects and the requirements needed to create a prototype that is easily understood by developers
  • Ability to utilize or discard design trends as necessary, understand new best practices and keeping up with other news within the industry
  • Strong typographic skills and the ability to pick the best typeface for the design
  • Can demonstrate understand of how branding works into products
