Job Description
At PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), we believe that every person has the right to participate fully in the global economy. Our mission is to democratize financial services to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or economic standing, has access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their financial lives. We're a purpose-driven company, and our beliefs are the foundation of how we conduct business every day. We're guided by our core values of Inclusion, Innovation, Collaboration, and Wellness. Collectively, these values inspire us to work together as One Team with our customers at the center of everything we do, and to take care of ourselves, each other, and the communities in which we live and work. We challenge the status quo, ask questions, and find solutions. Join us as we enable the hopes, dreams, and ambitions of millions of people around the world.
Honey is looking for a Product Designer who enjoys working across all layers of product design (strategy, structure, surface). You will be responsible for the parts of Honey's design system that support our web experience. You should have a strong understanding of web design patterns across form factors and contexts, strong visual and user experience sensibilities, and care deeply about the end-user experience.
Honey is a fast-growing startup based in Los Angeles. Our online shopping platform offers users a smarter way to shop. Through a simple browser extension, we open up instant access to exclusive savings, deals, rewards, and discovery, all powered by the collective knowledge of Honey's community of online shoppers. We are helping millions save when they shop online, and we're hiring! We are actively seeking a Product Designer to join the Product Design Team in our Los Angeles office.
About the Role
Honey is looking for a Product Designer who enjoys working across all layers of product design (strategy, structure, surface). You will be responsible for the parts of Honey's design system that support our browser extension. You will own the product coherence of Honey's browser extension, our most-used product. As part of the Savings & Rewards team, you'll work toward a common goal: to build the smartest, most valuable, and most trusted assistant people turn to every time they shop online. You'll own projects from discovery through release, designing experiences for Honey's browser extension and mobile apps.
What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to uncover key user and business problems.
  • Own and advance the parts of Honey's design system that support consumer facing web experiences.
  • Improve the product coherence of Honey's browser extension.
  • Define new interface and interaction patterns across the many surfaces where Honey's extension appears inside other merchants' websites.
  • Use systems thinking to deliver design decisions that scale, rather than creating one-off solutions.
  • Collaborate with designers across teams to curate new patterns and evolve Honey's visual language.
  • Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns, and coach other designers to use them successfully.
  • Conduct user research, gain insights on our member's behavior, and use findings to influence product decisions.

  • Transform user insights into better solutions and validate decisions through rapid prototyping and testing.
  • Refine design requirements in collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineers to arrive at the best design solutions.

About You

  • You're an accomplished product designer with a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to solve challenging user experience problems with delightful solutions.
  • You design polished user interfaces and interactions through a solid understanding of color, typography, motion, and visual hierarchy.
  • You're able to step back and see a company's whole product ecosystem and go beyond designing featured to optimize around entire platforms and product experiences.
  • You're relentless in the pursuit of well-framed problems. You're willing to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo to deliver win-win outcomes for our members and the business.
  • You're a strong communicator who presents ideas confidently to designers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • You see WCAG and A11y standards as table stakes and constantly challenge teams to build inclusive experiences - regardless of circumstance, affluence, culture, language, age, or ability.

  • You act as a bridge across disciplines and functions, shipping better products through deep collaboration. You seek out and give impactful, candid feedback with generosity, humility, and respect.
  • You're fluent in modern screen design tools like Figma.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience designing e-commerce or fintech products.

  • Proficiency in high fidelity prototyping software like Principle.
