Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is the centralized U.S. catalog and special markets entity for Universal Music Group (UMG). Working in concert with all of the company's record labels, UMe provides a frontline approach to catalog management, a concentration of resources, a greater emphasis on strategic marketing initiatives and opportunities in new technologies.
Job Functions:
- Source and procure album artwork (digital and physical). Inspect digital artwork files using graphics software: Photoshop and InDesign. Order physical LP/CD albums and/or order art job bags/boxes from storage and collate art pieces to reassemble album projects for reissue or release.
- Research and secure rights for use and reproduction of photos and illustrations/artwork for album projects by locating photo agreements and licensing images.
- Manage digital image artwork asset procurement: Source album cover digital art files and/or source and purchase physical LP/CD product, scan cover, retouch scan, format file, route for approval and deliver final digital cover file.
- Source and procure images and research rights to use per requests from inside and outside company, working closely with Business Affairs/Licensing department when licensing images to third parties.
- Research all image rights requests from Business Affairs and Licensing.
Job Requirements:
- Photo agreements and licensing
- Photo research
- Knowledge of the capitol archives preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign
- Strong research skills
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to manage deadlines
- Knowledge of Capitol Records archives preferred
Experience:
- 2+ years' experience with photo research, licensing of images, and negotiation
Education:
- College preferred
