Job Summary:
We are seeking an Industrial/Product Designer who will work on developing new products for Ruggable from ideation to launch. The Industrial Designer will create revolutionary designs for new home goods products that solve targeted customer pain points and help in the process of product development, sourcing, tech pack creation, prototyping, and product testing.
What You’ll Do:
- Own work-streams of multiple product categories from ideation to launch
- Develop innovative home goods concepts, including, but not limited to ready-to-assemble furniture
- Ideate, sketch and 3D model new product concepts and solicit rapid feedback
- Source materials and construct physical prototypes for in-house testing and review
- Iterate with overseas suppliers on samples and designs
- Finalize specs with a focus on quality control, cost targets and manufacturing constraints
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in industrial/product design
- Experience across full product lifecycle, i.e., taking products from ideation to launch
- Experience and/or passionate about consumer products, furniture, or home goods design
- Fluent in 3D modeling (e.g., Solidworks/Rhino/Fusion360) and 2D Adobe Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Ability to be very hands on using workshop tools to create physical prototypes
- Excellent written and verbal communication with impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience in soft goods design
- Familiarity with sewing and patternmaking
- Able to lift and assemble heavy furniture/home goods items
