CAREER OPPORTUNITY: 

We are looking to hire a dedicated Director of User Experience Design to be responsible for establishing and driving the overall strategy for design and execution of our e-commerce websites and related applications. The Director of User Experience will play a pivotal role in the development of the design function, as the role will be responsible for leading our core team of strong UX designers, and be responsible for all design aspects of the product lifestyle, including product ideation, interaction design, visual and UI design, and user research and testing. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with foundational knowledge in software development, attention to detail, and a superb UX and creative design background.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

- Director of User Experience Design will build a thorough understanding of our customer needs and pain points by leading qualitative research efforts

-Serve as a customer advocate throughout the rest of the organization

-Direct the development of user personas to govern all aspects of product development

-Director of User Experience Design will train the UX team on how to be more data-driven.

-Mentor, coach, and manage a team of designers through one-on-one’s and design reviews.

-Promote and maintain a strong design culture throughout.

-Partner closely with product managers, designers, engineers, marketing, and other stakeholders to lead best-in-class customer experience across all e-commerce product lines

-Ensure consistency across product lines by developing standards, guidelines, and reusable design patterns

-Present design vision and strategy to stakeholders, executives, and drive efficient design processes to ensure high quality work and optimization

-Balance UX best practices, aesthetics, and user research with data and analytics for design implementations

-Director of User Design will provide guidance to A/B testing team on creating optimal user flows

 

 WHAT YOU HAVE:

 

-Director of User Experience Design will have at least 10 years of work experience, including at least 5 years as a design manager

-Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

-Strong experience in all aspects of user experience design (i.e interaction design, visual design, and user research

-Superb experience in implementing design processes, creating style guides, and delivering effective designs and flows with brand consistency

-Director of User Experience Design possesses a detail and analytical mind set

-Exceptional Adobe CS or Sketch skills and experience with other UX tools such as Invision app and Zeplin

-Strong communication skills

-Good background in responsive and mobile design principles, knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript capabilities

-Strong design portfolio required

-Team oriented mentality and ability to interact well with others
