Design Engineer
Relativity seeks a highly talented Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing space startup. This position will be hands on—from conceptualization, design, manufacturing, testing, and implementation. A high degree of autonomy is required.
Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining large PTC CREO assemblies and Windchill products
- Modeling in a CAD modeling software such as PTC CREO
- Defining design requirements and conceptualization
- Performing basic hand calculations
- Design for manufacturing, especially within an additive manufacturing environment
- Actively collaborate with other internal groups to ensure an optimized design
- Solving for difficult design constraints and packaging spaces
- Quickly Iterating on designs based on test data
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field and 5+ years of professional experience
- Proficiency in PTC CREO
- Proficiency in PTC Windchill
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
- Full design cycle experience
Preferred Experience
- Advanced Degree in engineering or other associated field
- Experience owning large complex assemblies for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles
- Expertise with launch vehicle and spacecraft mechanisms such as stage or faring separation systems, Thrust Vector Control (TVC)
- Previous work administrating CAD software for an organization
- Previous work on valves, components, reliable springs
