Every mission has a story-- ours is about saving the lives of millions of people currently at risk of being killed or critically injured by a defective airbag in their vehicles. We’re looking for a world-class, experienced creative to join as our Design Director and play a pivotal role in crafting and sharing our story to the millions of people who are in need of help. While our business is B2B, our design needs and mission are focused 100% on everyday people. The work that we do together will impact the lives of millions of people throughout communities all over the US. Don’t worry though-- working by your side will be a team of some of the brightest minds we know, all driven by an overwhelming passion to do meaningful work that directly helps save lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Help establish a design culture and set high standards for how we represent ourselves and our products/services.

  • Lead the process of revamping our brand and visual identity system (incl. Iconography and illustrations). We’ve grown a lot, and our identity should reflect who we’ve become.

  • Craft and champion a long-term vision for how we brand and communicate new products and services.

  • Lead discussions around our brand story, and craft the narrative of who we are.

  • Act as the primary stakeholder for infusing the creative process, design language and standards across our organization.

  • Create engaging, culturally relevant campaign visuals and content that will be seen by millions of people.

  • Collaborate with the product team and provide guidance on design elements as needed.

  • Create and launch new brand extensions for products and services currently in-development.

  • Help cultivate a creative environment, and play a major role in operationalizing creativity even deeper into our culture.

  • Manage relationships with outside creative resources (eg. artists, designers, illustrators, animators, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the marketing team and help with copywriting, and content needs.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of Visual Design experience with a majority of time working in tech startups. Bonus points for time spent in consumer fintech or healthtech.

  • A strong desire to work at a mission-driven company.

  • High-standards, and a respect for the iterative process.

  • Extensive experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and InVision

  • A track record of building a consumer brand across multiple mediums and channels.

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to distill discussions/feedback into actionable items.

  • A knack and love for illustrating and copywriting.

  • Incredible attention to detail, you take pride in noticing/catching things that a lot of other people have missed.

  • An inquisitive nature, you enjoy activities that require both a creative and strategic approach.

  • A love for entrepreneurial opportunities.

What We Bring to the Table

  • An incredibly supportive culture committed to innovation, collaboration, and creativity.

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.

  • A generous, company-contributed Pension Plan. We also offer an optional 401k for those that want to participate.

  • A high-growth environment with plenty of opportunities to take on new projects and accelerate your own professional growth. We’re building this thing together.

  • An open and transparent work environment built on mutual trust and respect.

  • A flexible work policy.

  • Optional time together for fun outside of the office.

  • Time off: Three weeks of vacation, plus holidays, and we even take the week between Christmas and New Years off.

  • A well-stocked kitchen full of snacks, fruits, drinks, cold brew, Brytelife, and more. Don’t have your favorite snack? Just ask for it.

Things We Look For When Hiring

  • Acting in service to people is a core value of yours, and drives many of the decisions you make on a daily basis.

  • You believe that open and honest communication is important in building the right kind of culture.

  • You’re aggressively committed to growing as a person and as a professional, even by just 1% at a time.

  • You’re biased towards action and know the difference between having too much information and just the right amount to make a decision.

  • You believe in the importance of teams, and assess success/failure by how your team performs.

  • You accept and celebrate success and failure with the same level of vigor and pass no judgment on the outcome, but rather focus on the process of growth and improvement.

  • You act as a steward of the business and take ownership of the work that you do, and the team that you’re on.
