What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be creating custom mood boards, designing original visual identity systems, and producing detailed brand books for new and existing businesses of all sizes and industries. You'll also help to create thoughtful design solutions that run across digital and social ad campaigns, branded presentations, print and packaging designs, and other types of marketing collateral.
You'll work collaboratively with our Strategists, Web Designers, Developers, and Photo/Video experts to explore ideas and concepts through rigorous design iteration, and will help streamline complex design problems into elegant, well-edited solutions.
Who We're Looking For:
  • You understand the past, present and future of design
  • You love playing with shapes and attributing meaning to them
  • You love typography, pulling apart letterforms and putting them back together
  • You enjoy creating and following systems and conventions as they pertain to identities
  • You think strategically and connect design thinking back to specific business use cases
  • You're able to focus on small details while still keeping a bird's eye view of large projects
  • You're comfortable explaining your work and your thinking both internally and externally
  • You're an excellent communicator and are confident being client-facing
  • You're responsive to and capable of receiving and giving all types of feedback
  • You've got a solid understanding of digital media and the marketing industry at large
  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects at once and are comfortable with tight deadlines

You Should Have:
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Graphic Design or a related field
  • Experience creating Mood Boards, Logos, Identity Systems, Brand Books, Digital and Social Ads, and Print Collateral
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Keynote
  • Bonus points for agency experience
  • More bonus points for animation, illustration, or hand-lettering experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant work

What are some social events your company does?

Hawke has monthly Happy Hours at our West LA HQ showcasing new initiatives each month. Quarterly, we host Brand Alchemy in NY & LA, an event series focused on the cross-section of marketing and talent that accelerate growth. Annually, Hawkefest invites eCommerce executives to a day of collaboration and programming with industry thought leaders.

I love having complete control over how my day is scheduled. I don’t have a “typical day” because every day is so different. Some days I’m sitting (or standing!) at a desk doing phone interviews, and some days I’m working on a side project for the recruiting team while lounging on the couch- yay WFH!

What are some social events your company does?

Since the transition to WFH, Hawke Media has become very creative with hosting social events for us. On Wednesday's and Friday's we play games on Zoom like Trivia and Pictionary where we can earn Amazon gift cards! I look forward to these because it is a great chance to interact with other people in the company in a non meeting setting.
