The Role
SimplePractice is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to take the company’s analytics to the next level of their data driven journey. This role serves primarily our Monarch product and ecosystem teams.
The role will perform a variety of data science activities in addition to managing the relationship of the data team with the Monarch, ecosystem, and other stakeholders. Critical is an in-depth understanding of the business data and analytical needs, translating the requirements into data asks, and data asks into information using SQL, machine learning, predictive analytics and a variety of available query and visualization tools. Strong focus on analytics process and quality is essential.
Responsibilities
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving & critical-thinking skills to meet complex data challenges. Flexible and comfortable with uncertainty in requirements in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Take ownership and champion data topics, with the flexibility and interpersonal skills to interact across the business, especially the Monarch product and product ecosystem, and manage a project / team where required. Develop data analytics competences in the team and drive out the analytics capability
- Analyze complex data sets in depth for discovery purposes, issues and trends/patterns. Make independent/educated judgements & recommendations regarding appropriate solutions
- Help define and provide oversight for process and data quality across the data group operations
- Monitor the daily running of the production data visualization , particularly with respect to consistency, correctness, and ease of use. Manage data-related interventions through to resolution
- Create and maintain various data products, including delivery via visualization tool dashboards, reports, ad hoc data analysis, spreadsheets, graphs
- Assist in team planning and assist in the wider team’s Change Management to enable change projects & business requests
Desired Skills & Experience
- Top-notch SQL, statistical/window functions, complex data types
- Applied experience with machine learning on large data sets
- Experience with statistical modelling software such as Python, R, MatLab, Pandas, or similar technologies
- Experience leading teams
- Excellent data analysis skills (investigation, modelling, mapping and gap analysis)
- Excellent project management
Bonus Points
- Advanced data analytics and data science
- Experience building machine learning models from end to end, from stakeholder elicitation through deployment in a production environment
- Relevant work experience in applying statistical analysis including linear models, stochastic models, and the ability to appropriately select the right tool based on the time and technology constraints
- ETL experience is highly preferred, including DBT
- Expert in relational technology
- Project & Change Management skills especially experience working in an Agile (SCRUM, Kanban) environment/team focusing on sprint by sprint deliveries
