Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst will work in close partnership with cross-functional project teams to implement projects that impact financial transactions. Develop, lead, and execute project management deliverables, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), detailed project plans, and milestone charts. Provide concise updates regarding overall status, issues, risks, and recommended actions to be taken. Detailed analysis, plans, milestones and deliverables will be required for seamless project implementation, adoption of new systems and processes.
 
Job Expectations:
  • Partner with business leaders across the organization to define and implement strategic projects and transformation initiatives to support long range business objectives
  • Define and document business requirements and functional specifications from business users and subject matter experts
  • Lead requirements validation and traceability analysis through stakeholder engagement meetings
  • Manage project requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing; write test plans as required
  • Analyze large, complex data sets and provide insights to the business
  • Provide data support (e.g., request handling, ad-hoc analysis, etc.) to meet the needs of finance operations and other stakeholder groups
  • Perform business needs analysis and design workflows, including “as is” and “to be” process mapping
  • Collect timely feedback from stakeholder groups in order to ensure terms of requirements and specifications are being met through solutions being built
  • Perform interface analysis, including proper mapping of how the technology infrastructure and systems share data, to achieve business goals
  • Provide insight for the user interface with the systems
  • Assess and mitigate risks in systems and business structures
  • Provide support to ensure the quality of data that is retained in our systems and data warehouse
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong leadership/influencing skills at all levels
  • Proven track record of leading successful strategic engagements and demonstrated ability to design and execute high-quality work, both independently and in teams
  • Strong sense of ownership, and ability/desire to work independently
  • Thorough understanding of DBMS, data warehousing and BI concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work with extract, manipulate, and interpret large data sets
  • Strong business analysis and data skills, including facilitation and gathering of user requirements, development of business requirements and functional specifications documents, system and user acceptance testing (UAT), process mapping, data extraction and validation, data mapping, etc.
  • Strong business acumen, problem solving, negotiating skills, and analytical thinking
  • Team player, personable, empathetic, and diplomatic
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, changes in direction and adjusted priorities
  • Knowledge of Accounting and GAAP a plus
  • Strong understanding of MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Understanding of Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana or similar, Wire-framing tools such as Balsamiq, Adobe-XD or similar, and Microsoft Visio 
 
Education and Experience Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in implementing strategic projects and working on Finance/IT projects
  • 3 years of project Management experience (PMP preferred), including business requirements gathering and documentation for ERP-related systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
