Senior Business Analyst - Marketing
FabFitFun, one of the fastest growing companies in L.A. and the U.S. according to Inc, Forbes and E&Y, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to perform deep analytical work, providing both analyses and recommendations for all different facets of our Marketing organization. In a newly created role, this Analyst will become an expert in our source data and analyzing the business impacts of various initiatives in partnership with many teams, including Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a strong communicator, incredibly curious, and technically capable with a deep desire to discover and deliver data-driven business insights. This role is critical to fuel our data-driven culture and to help us make informed business decisions.
What you'll do:
- Perform analyses and build reports that will drive real-time business decisions specifically for our Marketing department
- Support the Marketing team on marketing attribution across all digital and offline channels
- Conduct ad-hoc analytics requests using the internal data warehouse in Redshift, Microsoft Excel, and Looker
- Assist in implementation and reconciliation of marketing performance data from multiple media publishers and ad tech platforms to inform a comprehensive Media CPA analysis
- Define reporting requirements in partnership with Marketing team and translate into technical requirements to build a comprehensive analytics solution
- Partner with our data engineering and technical teams to ensure that our data is accurate in our databases
- Build dashboards that provide solid recommendations to business partners based on data insights on channel & media ad performance
- Understand the data systems specifically related to Marketing analytics and be the go to person for interpreting the data and providing insights back to the Marketing team
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or another technical field
- Expert knowledge and ability to leverage SQL queries to surface data from source systems and build reports
- Proven success in delivering impactful insights and data visualization using Looker and other BI reporting tools including Tableau, Pentaho, or Microstrategy
- Excellent communicator and interest in leading projects
- 3+ years of documented experience in an analytical related role
- Previous experience working in a digital marketing organization and preparing analysis and reports to inform Marketing optimization strategy
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL), cloud data platform (Redshift) & other business intelligence tools
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, formulas and charting
- Understanding of e-commerce or subscription business models
- Knowledge of various marketing attribution models is preferred
- Experience working with Python, R and similar tools for data mining is a plus!
