As a Senior BI / Data Analyst you will work with stakeholders across Ad Hoc Lab’s mobile app business to help us make smarter, data-driven decisions and to inform company-wide strategy as we continue to grow. Specifically, you will work closely with an experienced data team leader, as well as product, marketing, engineering, and leadership. This position provides the opportunity to manage business intelligence reporting, while using your creativity and analytical horsepower to answer our biggest and most valuable questions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user behavior to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and create a shared understanding of how our subscribers are engaging with the product
  • Define KPIs, build dashboards, reports, and models to help teams make faster, better decisions; develop financial models and forecasts including LTV and cohort models to connect our product metrics to the future revenues of the company
  • Partner with product teams to develop and analyze in-app experiments, running statistical analyses to determine which outcomes are most successful
  • Work collaboratively with marketing to analyze trends and experiments, and ensure our mobile app data is accurate and integrated so we have the infrastructure to measure our growth KPIs
  • Become an expert in all of our data and collaborate with engineers to define key data needs and maximize the value of data from all of our sources

Who we're looking for

  • You have 4+ years of experience in a hands-on analytical role
  • You have experience working on mobile apps, in a tech startup, and/or on marketing/product analytics
  • You have strong to expert level SQL skills 
  • You have experience working with data and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Chartio); we use Tableau, Amplitude, and Redshift
  • You are a problem solver who is excited to take on new challenges and critically think about how to answer the company’s biggest questions
  • You approach problems creatively and build structure out of ambiguous requests
  • You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organized
  • You are great at translating information between highly technical colleagues (e.g. engineers), and more business minded colleagues
  • You've worked on a small, highly collaborative team

Other useful experiences

  • Statistical analysis experience, especially in regards to running product or operational experiments
  • Experience with the mobile data sources, app stores, and MMPs
  • Experience working with growth marketing teamsExperience developing data forecast models
  • Familiarity with AWS, other cloud computing services, and/or ETL tools
