OUTER'S MISSION 

Outer is a venture-backed startup based in Santa Monica, California on a mission to get people outside and inspire healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives by creating innovative outdoor furniture.

We’re looking for a Sr. Analytics Engineer to join the team and leverage our data to support internal stakeholders on the Engineering, Product, Operations, and Marketing teams.

A strong candidate would be someone well into their career with solid analytical grounding and intuition along with engineering skills to help distill data into insights.

You will primarily work with Python, write queries against MySQL, Postgres databases and use tools such as DBT, Segment, Redshift and Snowflake. Visualization tools include Quicksight, Mode, Looker, and Tableau.

This is a remote position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Own the BI tooling for Outer
• Provide insights to stakeholders through building data visualizations, reporting, alerting, or creating new data sources
• Collaborate with internal teams to create tables and reports about the business
• Maintain the “ecosystem” of tables that can be used by other teams through visualization tools
• Be an expert on the data in our database, know every in and out of the data, and how to apply that data to support Outer
• Transform data with whatever tool is best for the job, whether that is SQL, Python, or some other tool

WHAT YOU'LL BRING ON DAY 1

• 5+ years of experience in engineering/building dashboards
• Fluency in Python
• Fluency in SQL (the words SQL-Ninja resonate with you)
• Familiarity with ETL workflows
• Experience using dashboard tools such as Quicksight, Mode, Looker, Etc
• Ability to familiarize and understand pain points, and translate into insight
• Solid writing, communication, and presentation skills
