Section Manager - Data Presentation Frameworks

Aerospace's Analytics Software Department is looking for a Section Manager to lead and grow a team of data engineers who design, implement, and deploy cloud-native and innovative data engineering and analytics platform solutions for our nation’s space enterprise. We support a variety of customers, including Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g., NASA), as they all face challenges in building enterprise data platforms.
Key Functions

Work with the department director and other managers as needed in developing and managing the organization.

Recruit, amplify efforts in pursuing diverse candidates and hire staff to support the department's technical skill gap and customer demand.

Lead and manage teams to create leading and innovative prototypes in data engineering and analytics platforms.

Provide effective management of staff to include performance evaluations and personnel career growth.

Identify new areas of research and lead project teams through the proposal, design, and execution phases.

Plan and execute strategies that lead to new or sustained business and customers.

Encourage the technical growth of personnel, and develop and mentor team members.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Experience communicating technical concepts to varied audiences, including beginners, experts, and business decision-makers.

Hands-on experience with cloud computing technologies, especially cloud-native data engineering and analytics related services.

Coding experience in Python, Java or C#.

Experience in SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB, InfluxDB, etc.) database solutions.

Experience in distributed computing, large-scale data platform design with high-speed data pipelines, microservice architectures, and API Gateways.

Experience leading multi-organizational teams.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Experience with cloud deployment computing technologies (k8s, rancher, etc)

Experience with collaboration notebooks technologies (Apache Zeppelin, Jupyter, etc.)

Active Secret security clearance
