About the Research Associate (Health Economics Outcomes Research) at Headspace:

Headspace is looking for a Research Associate (Health Economics Outcomes Research) to support our growing workplace and healthcare business. This is an exciting career growth opportunity at a fast paced growth stage startup. You will be part of a growing health and science team which has expertise in behavioral science, clinical research, science communications, health partnerships and digital medicine. You will also work closely with our Headspace at Work team to support B2B focused research and interface directly with our partners.

You will help to spread our mission of improving the health and happiness of the world by partnering with corporations big and small to demonstrate the value of the Headspace mindfulness training platform as a benefit for their employees, both in and out of work. You will work closely with our health partnerships and healthcare teams to design and conduct high-impact HEOR studies that supports commercial objectives, including reimbursement. Headspace wants to make meditation mainstream at the workplace and in healthcare. Through this role you will be able to conduct innovative and transformative research that demonstrates the impact of meditation and helps drive widespread adoption.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for HEOR at Headspace that supports business objectives
• Study design, data management, and biostatistical and health economic analysis for clinical trials, outcomes research and health economics research
• Develop, support, and maintain professional relationships with internal and external partners to provide comprehensive scientific support 
• Collaborate with self-insured employers, healthcare systems, government, payer, and pharmaceutical and biotech
• Conduct health economic modeling and work with large national healthcare datasets
• Interpret workplace data (e.g., absenteeism, disability leave, etc.), hospital and claims data to reduce unnecessary utilization

What you’ve accomplished:

• Advanced degree PhD in health economics, epidemiology, health services research, pharmacy, psychology, or a related field
• 5+ years experience since receiving PhD or equivalent and in a HEOR role
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to think strategically and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Superb verbal and written communication skills, including experience with partner-facing roles. 
• Experience generating HEOR evidence to support reimbursement
• Experience with medical device or digital medicine is preferred
