System1 is hiring a Principal Data Scientist to focus on our lead generation (lead gen) business. Our lead gen business is our fastest growing business. You will have the opportunity to scale it to become a significant contributor to our overall strategy and you will be able to directly measure the impact of the models you build on the daily financial results. We are looking for experienced candidates that will bring analytical skills and statistical methods to measure the quality of our products, and to understand the behavior of end-users, advertisers, and publishers. You will also be instrumental in guiding and building our data science platform, and developing our next generation of forecasting and optimization systems. You will be an individual contributor, building optimizations that operate in real-time. You should be comfortable working in a highly cross-coordinated team environment where you will collaborate daily with engineering, account management and product teams.

The Role You Will Have

• Impactful individual contributor in core optimization systems
• Build lead gen models that manage advertiser inventory and user engagement
• Manage modeling decisions for key revenue-generating projects
• Quickly iterate and release new models to production systems
• Proactively seek out optimization opportunities with business stakeholders
• Sound leadership in statistical best practices as applied to data science

What You Will Bring

• Demonstrated experience as a data scientist
• A degree in a quantitative discipline, mathematics, engineering, or computer science preferred
• Experience with recommender systems, time series models, and regression models
• Deep experience with production data science solutions using Python or R
• Proven track record with analyzing large data sets
• Work experience with database technologies such as Snowflake and other SQL databases
• Collaborative attitude with solid communication skills
