Knowledge Analyst

Digital Ventures is looking for a Knowledge Analyst based in Manhattan Beach to enhance knowledge services for DV US and support global knowledge initiatives. They will work with US billable staff to support knowledge needs as they arise and work with the Global Knowledge Lead to implement global priorities. This person must work well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high customer service orientation and the flexibility to support teams in different disciplines and industries.

The Knowledge Team exists to help BCG Digital Ventures:

Know what we know:

  • Easily find people based on expertise, role, and past work
  • Navigate complex systems to access stats on projects, ventures, and IP
  • Understand what can/cannot be shared with whom
  • Facilitate scenario-based searching (“A time when…”)

Know how we do it:

  • Bring clarity to when and how internal tools should be used
  • Ensure governance for applicable content on the company intranet
  • Champion employee-friendly sanitization procedures for recently launched ventures
  • Support US staff in navigating knowledge materials, tools, processes

Enrich what we know:

  • How to access fresh thinking beyond DV
  • Design feedback loops that improve our output
  • Engage with BCG counterparts for improved collaboration

As a Knowledge Analyst, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Create Content:
  • Support Business Development (Partners, Directors, Managers) with commercial propositions to be re-used (in particular for industry hot topics)
  • Manage venture summary information for use in vignettes, product demos, and aggregate reporting
  • Lead retrospective sessions to document lessons learned and collect critical project data and assets
  • Author process and policy documentation for improved internal efficiency
  • Organize content:

  • Ensure all relevant documents are shared among the Firm, define what is a “relevant” document, and in which form it should be shared
  • Structure the process for sharing (who does what and when, how to ensure it is done, define incentive or tracking system)
  • Manage change in the organization to improve content sharing and collaboration
  • Reference and guide for information/data research:

  • Understand how various research tools and services both within DV and at BCG can be leveraged by venture teams and sales teams
  • Coach and support staff for self-service usage of knowledge resources
  • Leverage internal data sources to support leadership and operations teams with performance reporting

As a Knowledge Analyst, you will need:

  • 1 - 3 years of related experience; particularly in a professional services or matrix organization
  • Technical experience with information management systems
  • Experience working with data cleansing, categorization, analysis, and visualization
  • Driven work ethic, service-mentality and able to work autonomously
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable in ambiguous or changing business situations
  • Able to manage multiple parallel tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Fluent in English
