Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played PC game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That’s where you come in.

As an Insights Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that members of the Insights discipline (researchers, analysts, and other scientists) are equipped to provide Riot with effective decision-making support. You’ll work with senior leadership on a product to identify areas where Insights can help improve outcomes and work with Insights members to ensure those outcomes are achieved. Through your efforts, product teams will be more player-informed and the Insights members you manage will grow and thrive.

You are:

  • Player-focused, number savvy: Your left brain loves numbers, your right brain can find creative uses for them, but your whole brain loves gaming. You have a natural inclination towards critical thinking and problem-solving that gives you a clear fluency with quantitative concepts, be it in games or work.
  • Educated: You have an advanced degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math, Management Information Systems, Psychology, or a related discipline. If you don’t have a degree like that, you’ve learned on the job and have built your expertise.
  • A trusted mentor, manager, and coach: you know that your most important contribution is the empowerment and support you bring to the colleagues you manage. You’re well-versed in stewarding the growth of others and are always looking for ways to elevate the people you’re managing. You have experience managing others and helping them thrive in their careers.
  • A practiced hand at research and analytics: You partner your academic training with professional experience that gives you a rich trove of practical know-how; you’ve done years of quantitative and/or qualitative analysis that you can bring to Riot to help level us up. In previous roles, you may have been an engagement manager at a consulting firm, the leader of a research team in industry, or the principal of a lab in academia.
  • Strategic and business-savvy: you’re well aware that there’s no point to analyzing every aspect of a problem if the decision hinges on one critical insight; you’re sharp about what makes a company like Riot tick and can find the critical path to how Riot can deliver meaningful experiences to players.
  • Adaptable: you recognize that situations change, complications arise, and you’re ok with that; you’re coolly flexible, able to handle whatever comes your way, and can mentor others to do the same.
  • An equipped communicator: your strength in crafting accessible narratives around data means stakeholders can easily access your thinking and findings. You know how to communicate effectively regardless of the audience, and you’re able to facilitate in-depth discussion to emerge with new ideas.

You will:

  • Work with decision-makers to understand their goals, identify opportunities to use Insights skillsets to improve outcomes, and personally engage where appropriate
  • Identify major areas of engagement for Insights and build up stakeholder interest in the work
  • Mentor and support Insights members who will manage the execution of the engagement area, and ensure deliverables meet the company’s needs
  • Act as the direct manager of several Insights members
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to analysts and researchers seeking to improve their craft

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
