We are looking for a Data Governance Lead to join a growing data team. You'll be joining Whip to help develop and launch our enterprise data governance program to improve the integrity and quality of the data which powers our enterprise products. You will drive change and improve integrity and quality of the data which powers our enterprise products. Reporting to the Director of Governance and Analytics, you will work with product stakeholders and engineers to create processes, deploy measurement, and develop KPI and quality reports.

What Will You Do?

  • Establish the data governance competency with the goal of improving data quality and integrity, ensure consistent practices, and create common processes for data lineage and management.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand functional requirements.
  • Define and document the data quality processes and standards.
  • Create KPIs to track data quality and measure improvement.
  • Collaborate with data engineering to implement data monitoring.
  • Establish data quality dashboards and reports.
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with internal stakeholders and data engineering.

What Do You Need?

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to complete projects
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of databases and data structures
  • Strong quantitative and analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced level proficiency in SQL
  • Familiarity with privacy laws and SOCS compliance framework
  • Able to communicate effectively with both enterprise stakeholders and engineering teams
  • Experience developing data management & governance policies, standards, processes and/or using data governance technologies
  • 5+ years experience in data governance or related data operations and analytics roles
  • 2+ years working with data warehouses
  • 2+ years developing complex SQL queries
  • BS in information technology, computer science or related technical field

     


We are always hiring in our Whip hubs of New York City, Los Angeles and London where we currently have corporate offices - but for specific roles where we are open to hiring remotely - we can hire in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas,  Washington, and Wisconsin.
