SUMMARY:

The Engineering team is looking for a self-motivated Data Engineer who can help with building out our data pipeline that powers our various BI tools, dashboards and data warehousing. You’ll help to build a general, secure, scalable, fast, and high throughput data pipeline to process a decent amount of data on a daily basis.

We are very passionate about performance, correctness, and data quality. The team spends their time day to day developing new pipelines or features that make it seamless for data to be moved throughout our infrastructure.This includes choosing and working with cutting edge tools. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, which performs Extract Transform Load (ETL) of our incoming data.

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.

• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

• Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.

• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

• Work with data scientists and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 Years or more of related experience

• Strong data engineering background

• Strong software development background

• Moderate experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

• Moderate knowledge of AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift

• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++

• Experience building and optimizing AWS data pipelines, architectures and data sets
