Responsibilities

As the analytics manager on TikTok's US Safety team, you will be instrumental in ensuring that TikTok remains a safe, trustworthy, and risk-free environment. You will shape the safety data strategy and lead a team of analysts who are responsible for diagnosing, triaging, and treating large-scale safety issues. You will also assist in defining metrics, analysis, planning, execution, and building reports and summaries for various workstreams. You will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Product, Operations, Policy, and Engineering teams in order to proactively detect and disarm safety incidents, optimize performance, and scale operation efficiently. This position will be full-time and will be based in our Los Angeles, CA location. Responsibilities - Manage a team of business analysts, leading goal setting, stakeholder management and influencing day-to-day activities and deliverables of the team. - Use data to identify and forecast trends, conduct deep-dive quantitative analysis to identify root causes of safety incidents, understand user behavior, and determine objectives with achievable key results for the US Safety team - Inform best practices for how quantitative analyses should be run, including aspects such as processing, cleaning, and ensuring ground-truth integrity - Experience in a variety of skills to draw insights from data, including but not limited to data mining, statistical and machine learning techniques. You understand when to use these various methodologies based on the scope, type, and nuances of the problem - Collaborate with data teams across the globe to form best practices regarding data modeling and visualization; support these teams in the development of automated detection systems utilized to detect and, if possible, prevent safety incidents

Qualifications

Qualifications - Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics or other technical fields - 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis - 3+ years of experience in managing data teams including data analysts and/or data scientists - Expertise in analytics and data visualization( SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc), and a deep understanding of statistics and predictive analysis - Fluency with at least one scripting language, python is preferred. - Experience with machine learning and handling large scale structured/unstructured data Preferred qualifications: - Curiosity and strong motivation to dissect a highly complex challenge, the capability to thrive in a dynamic environment - Ability to influence and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with several different departments & across all levels of the organization - Experience working with international partners at different time zones - Desire to travel between various sites (Palo Alto, China, Southeast Asia) to manage projects and collaborate with stakeholders
