WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for someone to plunge into the deep end of marketing and drive product adoption by communicating how to use our sophisticated programmatic advertising platform. Everyone says you’re a good writer, but you’re so much more than that. You might not be an expert when you start in on a topic, but you work effectively with those who are, and soon earn their respect and trust. You have the talent to take complex technical information, distill it down to essential concepts, and create multimedia content that gives people an “aha” moment. In fact, you’re so good at that, other people rely on you to review their content for style, consistency, and impact. You have a keen eye for the small things that make the good great and are delighted when you help the team say it better.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Be a self-starter, diving into a complex system fully and becoming an expert who can then help other people learn how to use the product.
  • Build strong relationships across business units – product management, client services, engineering, and trading – to develop a deep understanding of the product functionality and business context for the right technical communications strategy.
  • Evaluate audiences, determine best content mix (text, video, graphics, etc.) to deliver on-point information, and own execution of content development and delivery.
  • Effectively and diplomatically edit other people’s content promptly and help maintain and expand a style guide for use by the entire team.
  • Support global marketing teams by understanding and communicating the local nuance of products, as well as assisting in coordinating localization efforts.
  • Support publishing platforms (such as Confluence and Guru) the team uses to disseminate content.
  • Learn quickly and adapt smoothly to rapidly evolving information and priorities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Communications, Liberal Arts, or another field where you have proven you can write with clarity and impact, or equivalent work experience. We will ask for examples of your writing.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in technical communications, journalism, or another content creation field.
  • Demonstrated experience creating content on a technical or another complex topic as shown by the examples you provide.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Willingness to complete a 60-minute technical communications sample project based on input we provide, as well as a 20-minute copy editing test.
  • Prefer experience with Guru or Atlassian Confluence (or other web-authoring and publication tools).
  • Prefer experience with Adobe After Effects (or other audiovisual editing tools).
  • Prefer experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (or other image-editing tools).
