Social Media and Content Apprentice

What We’re Looking For:
The Sidebench apprenticeship program has an immediate opening for a part-time Content and Social Media Apprentice. This paid developmental program that is designed to provide the Apprentice with valuable & meaningful first-hand experience. We’re looking for a motivated college student or recent college graduate who is looking to gain insight into marketing and communications within the tech and consulting industry.

In this role, you’ll be partnering with our Marketing Apprentice for 12-20 hours a week, with the opportunity for more, to lead our social media and content strategy, write our social posts and long-form content, and produce analytics on our social and content efforts.

Apprenticeship Details:
We invest a lot of time into all of our Apprentices in the hopes that their growth translates to full-time employment with the company. During the Apprenticeship you will:

  • Gain significant exposure to marketing, communications, content and social media practices within one of the fastest growing digital product consultancies in the US
  • Do impactful work that contributes to the greater goals of the Sidebench team
  • Be challenged to think big, creatively solve problems, and turn solutions into processes
  • Have a dedicated mentor throughout the apprenticeship who is there to help guide you and provide regular, structured feedback
  • Work with and learn from a team of smart, friendly, and fun techies who care about your development

Responsibilities:
With our Marketing team, you will assist in a myriad of activities that cover everything from copywriting to interpreting our social analytics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing our social media strategy and regularly updating it to reflect the big picture goals of Sidebench
  • Designing and maintaining a content calendar that helps support sales and marketing goals
  • Writing original content, both short and long form, that lives on our blog, Medium profile or on sites like Forbes
  • Maintaining analytics on our social media channels and regularly compiling trend reports
  • Helping perfect and craft our “brand voice” and using that voice to reflect Sidebench’s core values and mission
  • Gaining familiarity with who we are and what we do in order to positively contribute to our brand strategy
  • Collaborating with our design team on creating fresh social assets and key art to support both content and social

Qualifications:
We are looking for a self-starter who has some previous experience in marketing a B2B company or in a similar communications role. Our ideal candidate has:

  • 1-2 years of experience in social media and content
  • Extremely strong writing skills that help communicate key information in a concise and thoughtful manner
  • Genuine interest in technology and business and the desire to learn more about B2B marketing
  • Leadership experience in the classroom, workplace, or at a similar type of organization
  • The ability to work independently and go above and beyond the original scope of their tasks
  • Strong research and analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Extreme attention to detail and the ability to properly edit copy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in general
  • A positive attitude and remains responsive, pro-active, enthusiastic, and adaptable
  • Availability to work part-time in Culver City for a minimum of 12 hours a week

Compensation
Apprentices are paid $12 an hour with the expectation that after successfully completing the Apprenticeship, they will be offered a competitive full-time salary.

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Our work-life balance here is one of the best I've experienced in my career so far. People usually arrive between 9-10a each morning and leave between 5-7p every evening, and so long as you make all of your meetings and hit all your deadlines, no one's going to judge.
