The Role:

Ranker is looking for a versatile Video Editor who is as comfortable editing both Snapchat videos to longer form YouTube explainer videos for our Weird History channels. This is a remote position and motion graphics experience is preferred.

Who you are: 

You are a digital video native who has experience creating, building and editing fun, engaging and shareable video for social media audiences. You are proficient in the pacing and visual styles prevalent in Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook and beyond. You have a strong creative eye, comfortable in After Effects and have a desire to develop new styles of visual storytelling. 

Beyond being a great creator, you are highly organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced small team environment. You are willing to learn new things, and contribute wherever you can in building our existing Weird History series content, as well as new and exciting formats. 

You are someone who will work quickly and efficiently, never missing a deadline and produce digital videos that engage our audiences as well as deliver solid business results.

What you’ll be doing:

• Create new sharable content for our Weird History Snapchat channel and YouTube as well as other emerging platforms

• Manage the creative video editing process

• Design and create graphics as well as animation 

• Tell engaging stories using different creative elements 

• Be the go-to person for troubleshooting workflows, render or export problems 

Ideal qualifications:

• Expert in Adobe Premiere CC and Media Encoder

• Highly proficient in After Effects

• A strong eye for detail and design

• Animation experience is preferable

• 2+ years as an editor in a professional post-production environment

• 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams and creating videos consistently across platforms.

• 2+ years of post production experience in a production company or studio environment

• Ability to work in all HD, UHD, and digital video formats including all variations of compression formats and their different uses in the production environment

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Possess a strong sense of story and rhythm, color grading, music and audio, and good communication
