The Role

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The Senior Editor (full-time, salaried, regular) will be responsible for creating, editing, and delivering high quality content for the new car segment. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Write and/or edit original content (i.e. features, reviews, columns, news, etc.).
• Travel to industry and internal events for content creation purposes and cultivate industry contacts.
• Develop and execute feature story ideas.
• Execute social media and video editorial.

 Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position will not include supervising one or more employees where applicable.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or related field preferred.
• 6+ years publishing experience preferred.
• Previous experience as an editor in a publishing environment, or equivalent education and experience.

 Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Excellent writer able to communicate complex issues in lively, clear, and concise prose.
• Excellent editor able to make other work better.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
• Able to work quickly and meet short deadlines.
• Language skills suitable for a professional publishing position, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation, plus proofreading and copyediting capabilities. 
• Knowledge of publishing procedures and tools desired, primarily Wordpress.

 Physical Requirements:

• The ability to sit for prolonged period of time and view computer screen.

 Equipment/Software Used:

• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Photoshop, WordPress, other Web based software and analytics tools

 Work Environment:

• Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilated.
