What You’re Applying For:
The Post Production Coordinator will play a crucial role in the growth of Edmunds’ Content team. You will work alongside the Manager, Post Production, production manager, editors and the rest of the forty-strong Edmunds’ editorial team to create industry-leading video content for our channels and our partner CarMax.
Working as part of a team, the Post Production Coordinator will provide various administrative services to keep the video editors happy, on schedule and within budget. They should be able to juggle the needs of 10+ projects at a time, working with teams throughout the production and post-production process, while maintaining communication between all parties. They will be asked to provide creative solutions for a variety of different setbacks and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
The Post Production Coordinator will correspond directly with producers, editors, directors and production managers to fulfill practical everyday post production needs while maintaining budgets and schedules. This will entail scheduling edit sessions in tandem with the manager of post and the production manager, facilitating hand-offs of footage and notes from production to post, gathering additional assets and information for video editors, and ensuring communication between project stakeholders is clear and consistent. Additionally the role will be responsible for uploading and/or delivering final assets to our various channels and clients, tracking contracts and freelance payments, reporting on all related costs, booking freelance post staff, and assisting with closing out projects.
The ideal candidate should be extremely versatile, and should be experienced with a variety of different production formats. S/he should have a book of contacts in the L.A. area that includes video editors, sound mixers, graphic designers, cinematographers, camera operators and PAs. This is an in-office job with the possibility of travel to various shoot locations.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain daily contact with other departments of the company, such as the Edmunds Employee Experience team, accounts payable, as well as vendors outside of the company
- Book Editors and Jr Editors, and schedule edits
- Book and collect invoices for freelance post talent
- Maintain records/files for all completed and in-progress work
- Prepare and file contracts with vendors and talent
- Generate post schedules and goals for Manager, Post Production
- Schedule review times and edit sessions with stakeholders
- Assist in facilitating communication between production and post
- Handle the upload and/or delivery of final assets
What You Need:
- A thorough understanding of the entire post-production process
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional multitasking skills, managing multiple projects
- Ability to act and react professionally in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and think proactively
- Willingness and ability to work overtime with little or no notice
- Ability to communicate clearly - verbally, visually and in writing
- Strong project management skills
- Must have knowledge of file set-up, maintenance, filing procedures
- MAC/PC Proficiency, advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Familiarly with cloud-based platforms
- Collaborative and proactive problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with scheduling software
- Familiarity with YouTube, Instagram and other social media platforms
- Three or more years prior experience in post coordinating online shows/series and short documentaries and/or commercials (or similar post production experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Google Apps suite.
- Knowledge of Jira and/or another workflow/tracking program is a plus. Familiarity with Xytech/Media Pulse, FileMaker Pro and/or other scheduling/asset management software.
- A working knowledge of Adobe Suite
- Ability to spend time in the field and drive regularly
