IT Studio Technical Producer

As a member of the Snap IT Studio Operations Team, you will oversee the creation of a wide variety of digital media in support of Snap’s business initiatives and mission. You will be instrumental in shaping Snap’s voice and identity through short form visual communication and storytelling. You are a leader and subject matter expert in your field. You command a knowledge of the relationship and dependencies between all areas of production.
This multifaceted and multi-disciplinary role requires you to have strong and diverse leadership experience and skill sets related to producing, production, and post production. You are a high impact leader and thoughtful service owner. You are responsible to grow and maintain strategic partnerships and customer relationships for the IT Studio Team.
You provide excellent customer service and consistently demonstrate Snap’s value based behaviors. You manage and drive the development of studio services in addition to the execution of large projects. You are often given broad, complex and ambiguous problems to solve. You are responsible for the overall quality and delivery of a service within the team. You can supervise and manage production teams, stepping into various disciplines and supporting junior team members in all areas.
You are a creative leader and self-starter with autonomy to manage services using your own judgement with little to no input from senior team members. You are responsible for mentoring and coaching your peers while providing feedback and input to senior management related to team performance and service risk. You drive the development of department strategy and own decisions which affect strategic partnerships, budget, and creative vision.
What you’ll do:
Execute the technical, creative, administrative, and production services of the studio in support of the business in all areas related to media production.
Report regularly to the IT Manager
Seek new opportunities to use video to increase company communications, impact, and productivity
Uphold and manage standards regarding the creation and delivery of production binders and team documentation.
Manage and set standards regarding development of budgets and oversight
Make budgetary decisions with fiscal responsibility
Uphold standards regarding oversight of project finances and accounting
Execute creative pitch decks and proposals for partner review
Manage vendor onboarding, bid submission and review, and selection processes
Ensure deliverables are finished on time and to company standards
Follow standards regarding compliance with digital media management processes
Participate in setting and managing standards for the execution of all productions
Support daily communication with the team and partners regarding the status of any productions and projects the team is working on, including any problems or anomalies
Produce innovative and creative solutions for unique challenges that come with day-to-day production at Snap
Support standards and services to ingest, transcode, and update new media for daily distribution
Participate in peer review, providing notes on projects
Own creative relationships with partners and customers, ensuring services are being mapped to meet needs accordingly
Manage location scouting and planning, production design, set design, and permits
Ensure standards for picture composition, lighting, and audio quality are followed on set
Support and contribute to the customer’s creative vision for their project
Follow team standards regarding preparation of project files for edit and execute cuts from selects to final deliverable
Participate in the collaborative process to create treatments, scripts, screenplays, and storyboards, for internal productions
Consistently act as the on-set service delivery manager, Producer,Director, Director of Photography, Post Production Supervisor, Camera Operator, etc.
Occasionally support the team as the on-set Key Grip, Gaffer, First Assistant Director, Producer, Senior Digital Imaging Technician, First Assistant Camera, Still Photographer, Boom Operator, Sound Mixer, Set Decorator, Props Master, Production Designer, Driver, Unit Production Manager, Wardrobe Supervisor, Editor, Visual Effects Lead, Casting Director, Interviewer, Foreman, etc.

Knowledge of professional video production equipment and tools, including but not limited to: digital video and DSLR cameras, lenses, tripods gimbals, camera control accessories, SSD video recorders, camera monitors and scopes, video switchers and routers, video scalers and encoders, wireless signal distribution
Knowledge of professional lighting production equipment and tools, including but not limited to: lighting instruments and accessories, lighting control boards and dimmers, wireless DMX, light meters, rigging hardware and stands
Knowledge of professional audio production equipment and tools, including but not limited to: audio recorders, wireless microphones, audio monitoring systems, intercom systems, radios, production vehicles and carts
Knowledge of general production equipment and tools, including but not limited to: scenic materials and tools, teleprompter systems, mobile phone cameras accessories
Knowledge of professional post production equipment and tools, including but not limited to:editing workstations and screening rooms, playback systems, NAS SSD RAID systems, data card readers, fiber optic cables and accessories
Familiarity with the following technical software: Adobe Premiere Pro & Creative Cloud Suite, DaVinci Resolve, ShotPut Pro (Imagine Products), Compressor, Apple Final Cut, Avid Media Composer, Media Asset Manager, Frame.io, AutoScript, grandMA
Knowledge of mobile devices & apps: iPhones, Android Phones, Snapchat, Filmic Pro, Adobe Rush
Knowledge of Google G Suite, Atlassian Software (Jira & Confluence), Asana, Hangouts Meet, Mac iOS & OS, Apple Keynote, Slack
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline, 2 year degree and 2 years of professional experience OR 4+ years of equivalent experience working in a similar capacity or field
2+ years of customer support experience in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Film & TV production or creative media field
Professional certifications and credentials
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs unassisted
Experience working in a start-up environment or tech company
Valid California Driver's License (or the ability to obtain)
Valid US Passport for international travel (or ability to obtain)
Type an average of at least 40 words per minute
Flexibility and ability to travel internationally
Experience leading teams or managing services in a studio environment or on-location production set
Ability to work a flexible schedule; including evenings and weekends
