What we need…

We are looking for a talented, passionate Editor/Compositor to assist our Art team in Santa Monica. The Compositing portion of the position requires compositing for Stop Motion, 2D Animation, and VFX work. The editing portion would require screening dailies, subclipping, and coming up with creative edits using footage from popular TV shows, movies, and our own in-house productions. As a member of our team you'd also be expected to pitch project ideas based on footage available to you. Working closely with artists and producers, the position would call for creative problem solving and innovative uses of technology to assist in our productions. The ideal candidate will be organized, energetic, inventive, and can take creative feedback well.This is a full-time position.

This job involves the following responsibilities…

  • Edit footage from Popular Movies and TV into short-form entertainment
  • Logging footage
  • Understanding of post production pipelines and footage storage on file servers
  • Composite Stop-Motion, 2D animations, and motion graphics
  • Take and implement notes from directors
  • Pitch eCard ideas that our audience will love!

Who we think would be a fit…

We are looking for someone who thrives on being creative. You might be someone just out of Art School or has been practicing the craft for a while. You're someone who loves working with small teams in an extremely collaborative environment and seeing their ideas come to life. You have the skills and portfolio, but you still love to learn - and you enjoy taking the initiative to solve creative challenges. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful editor who is able to see creative potential in existing footage to tell specific stories. You are able to clearly convey ideas just through timing and editing of clipsBasic Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • Art Degree or 2+ years professional experience
  • 1+ year experience working in a creative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfolio or Reel clearly demonstrates editing and compositing ability, either through before and after shots, timelapse, or process of manipulating footage.
  • 1+ Year of working in post-production
  • Proficiency in the entire Adobe Creative Suite
