The impact you’ll have:

As a Director/DIT you will be responsible for directing fitness talent during stereoscopic capture and voiceover sessions, assisting directors by managing footage offload, archival and other related Digital Imaging Technology duties, in addition to general studio maintenance and upkeep for Supernatural productions.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead studio productions by providing on-set direction to talent and crew
  • Prepare the studio and equipment prior to filming (i.e. painting cyc, prepping cameras and sound, lighting, etc)
  • Prepare all project files for recording sessions
  • Maintain studio equipment
  • Operate recording equipment, including camera and sound, during studio production
  • Assisting with equipment tests and ensuring capture quality is state-of-the-art
  • Coordinate with external vendors for studio improvements and miscellaneous projects
  • Collaborate with the pre-production team to finalize and deliver necessary prep documentation and in-headset content to on-screen talent prior to filming
  • Assist directors in operating camera and audio equipment during studio productions
  • Transfer, verify, and archive all captured footage from studio productions in a timely manner
  • Ensure set notes and production documents are maintained accordingly in a timely manner

What you’ll need to be successful: 

  • 3+ years experience directing on-screen talent
  • 3+ years experience with camera operation or assisting in studio environments
  • 3+ years of audio recording experience
  • Ability to operate autonomously and organize workloads around tight deadlines 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including understanding the time and place for levity
  • Proficient with macOS & Windows 
  • Ability to deliver high quality assets with minimal oversight 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working in VR
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Working knowledge of Silverstack
  • Working knowledge of project management solutions (i.e. Jira, Airtable, etc.)
  • Experience using cloud backup solutions such as Backblaze, S3, etc.

This role is based out of our studio in Venice, CA. In-person support will be necessary and lifting of equipment over 50 pounds may be required. Our team member’s safety is a top priority and we strictly adhere to federal, state, and country protocols, including CDC guidelines around COVID-19.
