The Aerospace Corporation’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department believes in providing powerful and dynamic imagery to support our strategic communications campaigns, internal and external. We are looking for a seasoned and creative photographer, who has a passion for space and demonstrated experience creating compelling imagery to tell a story, to join our team as a Corporate Photographer. This position is based in our El Segundo, Ca office and will play a key role across the Creative Services team, supporting both internal and external projects and initiatives. Our ideal candidate will bring a fresh, creative approach to each assignment combined with demonstrated business acumen; thrive on collaboration; produce dynamic and visually compelling images that support the corporate vision and implement business best practices to build a world class photography function.
Key Functions
- Producing dynamic and authentic lab and technical photography that helps tell the “Aerospace story”
- Photographing studio and environmental portraiture
- Proactively identifying imagery gaps in our image library and developing solutions to obtain new images
- Art directing shoots, to include researching and scouting locations, developing a shot list, coordinating talent
- Effectively partnering and collaborating with other Corporate Communication’s Centers of Excellence (e.g. Video, Graphic Design) and our Communications Strategic Partners (e.g. Content Strategy, Public Affairs)
- Managing the photography schedule, inventory list, intake request process
Qualifications
Required
- Typically 10+ years of photography experience within a business, corporate or agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to arrange and art direct individuals and groups for photo sessions
- Experience following brand guidelines and aptitude for creativity
- An online portfolio that demonstrates experience shooting a variety of photographic styles that would be expected in a corporate environment
- Demonstrated experience with Nikon camera systems and using the Adobe Creative Suite to edit photography for digital and print use
- Experience generating and applying metadata to images, and cataloguing them in a digital asset management system
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated customer service mindset
- Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal organizations
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in a related field (photography, visual design, art)
- Familiarity with shooting video and video lighting
- Familiarity with 360 photography technology
- Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
- Experience with a project management/production tracking software
