The Design team we are building will be supported by lean, nimble, and meaningful processes and the systems and tools to support your development as a world class designer. All of this is in support of moving towards a design culture that supports risk taking and innovation and values quality and flexibility. 

About the Role:

  • As our pioneering Content Strategist you will be responsible for reviewing and refreshing our general tone and manner guidelines (in partnership with your marketing counterparts), setting up self-serve copywriting guidelines for designers, creating strings and word banks, and going deep on select projects, to model best-in-class content, and to ensure overall polish. You will be responsible for working with multidisciplinary teams to build experiences across Dave’s product that inform, engage and build lasting relationships with our users. You will be the point person on copy quality and content strategy.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop a framework that enables content and design to scale and grow quickly and flexibly.
  • Create key messages, word bank for reference and re-use
  • Create usable tone and manner guidelines, content standards
  • Create materials as needed to enable designer self service model to enable
  • Serve as consultative reference and resource for designers within self-serve model (ie host office hours)
  • Develop reference materials to enable elasticity of copy effort (ie quick staff augmentation or outsource with minimal re-work, when necessary) 
  • Go deep on specific, high profile projects to ensure overall delivery and quality (approximately 50% of effort)
  • Plan, write, edit, test and improve copy that drives business metrics or impacts team goals
  • Use data to measure the success of your words and to shape an ongoing strategy

What You'll Have:

  • 3-5 years experience producing and managing copy for a wide variety of mediums--from UX writing to blog and email content
  • Specific experiences with technical writing for consumer audience, writing for lower-literacy audiences is ideal
  • Demonstrated experience with financial services or related field
  • A strong sense of empathy with the consumer coupled with an ability to bring a brand to life through written words
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with an exceptional eye for detail (and maybe a love for em dashes)
  • Ability to be deadline-driven with strong time management skills
  • An interest in working with data and performance-based evaluation to enable smart, creative deliverables
  • Ability to be detailed in your execution but flexible in your approach
  • Experience working with designers to tell (and show) the best story possible
