Ranker is looking for Content Creators to join our Trending Team that generates fun, timely, popular, and viral content for a wide variety of Ranker branded social pages.

A day in the life looks like:

-Identifying and curating trending and viral content in pop culture via Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, etc.
-Writing and creating timely content in the form of lists and articles for our site.
-Crafting social media copy to match the brand’s tone and voice.
-Brainstorming and fine-tuning content with the team.

This might be the perfect role if you:

-Nerd out! Whether it’s the MCU, 90s Disney movies, true crime, horror films, Harry Potter, Anime, Avatar, etc. -- we want people who are knowledgeable and passionate about pop culture.
-Are involved in fandoms and know where to find and discuss film/show details and theories.
-Are online, connected, and have a demonstrated understanding of all social platforms. Redditors have a huge advantage.
-Are comfortable with regular collaboration -- we are a smart, talented, and funny group of copy editors, writers, and social media professionals; though we’re working remotely, this is a very interactive and collaborative position. There is never a meeting that should have been an email!
-Like to use both your creative and analytical side of your brain. We are data driven social media scientists following trends and signal based on current media and pop culture.
-Have a great sense of humor, with the ability to convey it being a major plus.
-Want to get their foot in the door in becoming a content creator for a major publishing site.

-A background in digital media, copywriting, editing, social media, content, or something similar is a plus but not required if you can create the content.

This is a 3-month contract position (40 hrs weekly) with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time employee. The position's title is "Publishing Operations Coordinator / Specialist" (DOE).

How do I get this role? Sure, a resume is needed -- but we’re more interested in how you think. Send us examples of any tangible evidence of who you are and why this role is perfect for you. This could be stuff you’ve written or produced, your Twitter feed, your Reddit persona - whatever we can quickly scan to see if it’s worth a deeper conversation. We’re hiring a few people in this capacity and are open to different levels of expertiseInstead of a formal cover letter, please send us a short explanation of why you would be a good fit for this role and what kinds of trending content you would like to create for Ranker.
