3D Artist Lead

We’re looking for a 3D Artist Lead with expertise in modeling and texturing to join Team Bitmoji! Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you will utilize your 3D modeling and texturing expertise to help our team create new Bitmoji assets and experiences that make millions of people happy around the world.
What you'll do:
Lead a small team of local and remote 3D Artists that create mobile and game optimized 3D models, UVs, Shaders, and Textures for Bitmoji
Create high and low polygon models of 3D characters, clothes, accessories, and props set to specific technical and aesthetic guidelines
Ensure a high level of fidelity in terms of modeling, texturing quality, and optimization
Work closely with other leads, designers, character riggers, and animators while showing a general understanding of each department
Collaborate with prototypers and engineers to create and develop new products to bring to market
Problem solve any technical limitations and issues using creative and resource efficient solutions
Be responsible for meeting project deadlines, setting milestones, and managing your teams weekly tasks and goals
Share your knowledge and experience with the team and be part of driving a positive work environment
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in 3D Animation, Animation, Fine Arts or related field
3+ years of experience in a lead or management modeling role with at least 2 shipped game titles
Preferred qualifications:
Ability to work cross-functionally by communicating effectively with production, other departments and teams across Snap
Strong communication skills and preference for working within a collaborative team environment
Experience as a lead or manager with that has clearly demonstrated the ability to drive performance for a team of 3D Artists
Strong 3D art portfolio, with games industry experience, that demonstrates an expertise in modeling and texturing
Be solutions focused, and able to help identify and problem solve gaps in a production workflow
Able to work autonomously and complete tasks within tight production schedules
Show proficiency in Zbrush, Maya, Photoshop, and Substance Painter or other projection based texturing software
Show proficiency in Unity, Unreal or other major leading game development software
Have a strong understanding of topology in using edge loops for deformation
Highly self motivated, look for positive outcomes, be well organized, and driven
Have experience in producing blend shapes (facial expressions and lipsync morph targets) is a plus
Basic understanding of scripting is a plus
