Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Control Specialist II will be responsible for reviewing title searches and assessing insurance risk factors, while clearly explaining underwriting requirements to guide lenders through real estate transactions. The position also requires analyzing complex deals—such as those involving trusts, LLCs, or other entities—to evaluate organizational financial conditions and ensure sound decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
 
  • Performs standard reviews of title searches and insurance risk factors and must be able to justify and communicate underwriting requirements to counsel buyers, sellers and lenders on real estate transactions
  • May analyze transactions involving a trust, LLC or other structure to determine financial conditions of the organization, participation percentage, type of industry, characteristics of employee groups, or past claim experience
  • Responsible for evaluating risk and exposures to determine acceptability of business
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues, provides guidance to less experienced team members
  • Individual contributor working with limited oversight
  • Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence. 
  • Gather and organize data to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. 
  • Prepare documentation for tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. 
  • Acts as ambassador of the risk culture. 
  • Follows standard procedures and guidelines 
  • Understands how assigned duties relate to others within the team and how the team integrates with related teams
  • Impacts own team through the quality of the support provided
  • Recognizes and solves typical problems; selects solutions from established options
  • Communicates moderately complex information in routine situations, typically within own team
  • Works under general supervision with limited ability to modify approach;
  • Individual contributor having no supervisory responsibilities; manages own workload
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Education
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred
Experience
Typically requires 2+ years of related work experience

Pay Range & Benefits

$51,600.00 - $86,200.00 Annually

The base salary range provided is consistent with similar roles at the Company. The base salary range is not an absolute, but a guide, and actual offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, education, experience, location, market conditions, and other compensation components. Depending upon all of the preceding considerations, the base salary may be lower or higher than the stated range.
