Brand Designer

Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. And yet, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. At Sage we've built a more modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers when in need of help, and corresponding software for caregivers to triage response. Our company mission is to create a product that our client counterparts love, and this role is a key part of that objective.

Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters.

About this Role

As Sage’s Brand Designer, you’ll design the creative that defines how our brand is experienced externally and internally. You’ll partner closely with marketing, content, and product teams to create materials that tell a clear and compelling story—through visuals that are strategic, consistent, and distinctly Sage.

You’ll own design execution across a wide range of formats—from campaigns and presentations to environmental and event collateral—helping ensure every expression of Sage feels intentional and aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Translate Sage’s visual identity across marketing, sales, and company communications.
  • Create high-quality design for campaigns, social, email, video, events, and presentations.
  • Maintain and evolve the brand system to ensure visual consistency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, content, and product partners on concept development and creative execution.
  • Design assets for both digital and physical touchpoints, from web and social to event and environmental materials.
  • Ensure design supports storytelling—clarity first, creativity second.
  • Develop templates, toolkits, and design workflows that streamline production and enable scale.
  • Manage external creative resources (agencies, illustrators, photographers) as needed.
  • Provide thoughtful design guidance to cross-functional partners to uphold brand standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of design experience in brand, marketing, or communications design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking and visual craft.
  • Skilled at evolving and maintaining brand systems across multiple channels.
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation design tools.
  • Collaborative and communicative—comfortable partnering with marketing, content, and product teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-moving environment.
  • Passionate about building a modern, human brand in an industry ready for change.

Benefits and Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $135,000-$155,000 USD, depending upon the job level, which will depend on your level of expertise, your experience, and your qualifications. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
