Product and engineering are the drivers to delivering our new strategic imperatives. The company has just started assembling a team of top-notch engineers and product professionals. We are seeking backend (or full stack) engineers (at all levels) to help us to establish a thoughtful design and development practice and architecture that encapsulates our value, culture, and the belief that we can transform the food industry for the better.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver best-in-class backend applications and systems
  • Represent the developer stakeholder in product decisions
  • Contribute to the design and development of the product
  • Help improve process operations, system functionality, product usability/quality, integrations, and data integrity
  • Leverage best practices from industry

Requirements:

  • Proficient in web development, specifically with Node.js/Express
  • Proficient in unit testing and associated test/automation (Mocha or Karma)
  • Proficient in relational database (SQL and ETL)
  • Good to deep understanding of systems including Linux and Cloud computing (AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge/experience in performing code and design review
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity
  • Good understanding of issue management systems, project management, and version control (especially git), standard development tools (Grunt/gulp, lint, unit testing, etc), and engineering process/practices
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and write well-understood, clean code
  • Possess the entrepreneurial attitude/ability to make an impact in the organizations and to deliver awesome products to the customers

Extra Credit For:

  • Strong devops skills (write a Dockerfile or Terraform script)
  • Good sense of system architecture and design patterns
  • Experience with BigData (Data streaming and NoSQL database)
  • Advanced knowledge/experience in configuring and scaling a web/application server especially Nginx or/and Node.js
  • Big plus: Experience with Netstuite integration
  • Big plus: Proficiency with a front-end development stack e.g. Mobile or web
  • Big plus: Experience in leading a team
  • Great sense of humor :)
