Your Role:

As an Assistant Plant Controller, you will partner with both the Corporate Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cost management across the Hanford manufacturing plant. This role combines plant-level cost accounting and operational analysis with broader corporate accounting functions, including compliance, audit support, and financial close management.

Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential, as this role also serves as a liaison between U.S. and China accounting teams. You will work closely with the Assistant Corporate Controller and GL team to bridge U.S. and China financial reporting, align accounting practices, and streamline communication across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Cost Accounting

  • Support the Corporate Controller in maintaining a strong system of internal controls, safeguarding company assets and ensuring integrity of plant financial transactions.
  • Support the Cost Accountant in managing inventory accuracy and cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation (LCM), and reconciliation of fixed assets with the General Ledger.”
  • Analyze plant operating costs in detail and recommend actions to improve profitability and ROI.

Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting policies; monitor emerging technologies to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Provide direct support during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including SEC financial statement reviews, statutory audits, and tax filings.
  • Serve as a key liaison with the China accounting team, ensuring alignment of accounting practices, reconciliations, and reporting standards across jurisdictions

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Partner with plant and corporate leaders to assess financial implications of operational strategies and cost control initiatives.
  • Support process improvement initiatives across both plant operations and corporate accounting.
  • Assist in coordinating audits of plant and corporate accounts to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment and a publicly traded company
  • Strong leadership potential, high ethical standards, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English and Mandarin (verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams in China
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork tendencies
  • A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting
  • A genuine fascination for the field and a commitment to global change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems; SAP/SAP HANA preferred
  • CPA or CMA or similar certification preferred
  • Experience with OEM, multinational corporations, or high-growth organizations.
  • Exposure to SOX compliance, internal audit, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring small teams

Salary Range:

   ($160K-$180K DOE) plus benefits and incentive plans
