The Art Director is responsible for conceptual development and the execution of creative deliverables. You're a natural collaborator and enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams to bring email marketing campaigns to life. You will oversee the visual design, layout, copy, and creative strategy for email marketing campaigns and other deliverables to ensure they align with our client's brand goals.

The Art Director will lead a team of Designers, Copywriters and Strategists. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal skills, you will demonstrate an ability to justify concepts to both the client and the project team. You’re a dynamic leader who can champion creative direction with your team and be an inspiring mentor to junior staff.

You Will: 

  • Develop visually appealing email templates that align with brand guidelines
  • Ensure consistency in colours, fonts, imagery, and overall design across all email communications
  • Develop concepts, communicate ideas, and design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives in a highly collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with UX, Copywriters, Designers, and marketing teams to create engaging campaigns 
  • Balance strategic development with client business objectives
  • Lead Copywriters and Designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style
  • Participate in strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution
  • Direct & delegate to core creative services disciplines (Design, Copywriting, UX)
  • Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables
  • Mentor and coach team members through project development and performance management
  • Build and maintain rapport with clients, partner agencies and vendors
  • Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department

You Have: 

  • 2+ years’ experience as an Art Director in an agency or client-side environment—including experience with emails, landing pages, and marketing/advertising
  • 2+ years' experience leading Email projects
  • Experience leading a team of Designers, Copywriters, UX, Strategists to creative excellence
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to clients and team members
  • Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
  • Solid working knowledge of the latest design tools including Adobe CS, Sketch, Principle

Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position. For current CM employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
Salary Range
$135,000$160,000 USD
