This is a part-time remote role for a 340B Subject Matter Expert at The Alinea Group. The expert will be responsible for providing guidance and expertise on 340B program compliance and optimization to clients. They will also collaborate with internal teams to perform 340B compliance reviews and audits, as well as develop and implement strategies to address 340B program challenges and opportunities. We seek professionals with strong backgrounds and experience with 340B program administration and monitoring in the Mixed-Use, Retail, and Contract Pharmacy Settings.
The OpportunityWe’re looking for a detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and self-motivated 340B Program expert to join our team on a remote, part-time basis. This role offers flexibility, independence, and the chance to make a real impact by helping covered entities navigate the evolving 340B landscape.
You’ll work with a team that values precision, integrity, and collaboration, while bringing your own expertise to client audits, compliance efforts, and process optimization.
What You’ll DoAudit & Compliance Activities
- Conduct independent monthly audits of 340B program activity, applying risk-based criteria to review transactions across inpatient and retail channels.
- Examine provider records and EHR documentation to confirm eligibility, patient qualifications, and appropriate drug use under 340B rules.
- Evaluate drug purchasing, inventory, and distribution records to support audit findings.
- Create clear, concise audit summaries that highlight findings and drive corrective actions where needed.
- Join regular team check-ins and contribute to group problem-solving and best practice sharing.
- Stay current with HRSA guidance, OPAIS updates, state Medicaid carve-in/out changes, and industry trends.
- Support the creation of internal tools, documentation standards, and client education materials.
- Assist with drafting or refining 340B policies and procedures based on your experience and audit findings.
- You bring at least 3 to 5 years of direct 340B experience, in compliance, auditing, purchasing, or consulting roles.
- You're comfortable working with 340B software platforms, Excel spreadsheets, and large datasets.
- You understand the contract pharmacy model, split-billing systems, and the broader healthcare compliance environment.
- You’re a strong communicator—capable of translating audit findings into client-friendly insights and next steps.
- You’re proactive, detail-focused, and thrive in a role where you can work independently and take ownership.
- You'll begin the 340B Advanced Certificate Program within your first 3 months and complete it within 9 months of hire if you do not current possess this certification.
- Occasional travel may be requested for events, client visits, or conferences.

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience working within 340B program operations.
- Strong background in pharmaceutical purchasing, inventory management, or related supply chain functions.
- Prior experience in roles focused on 340B compliance, auditing, or program oversight.
- Familiarity with at least one split-billing software platform.
- Solid understanding of contract pharmacy workflows and third-party administrator (TPA) coordination.
- Working knowledge of healthcare systems, electronic health records (EHR), and 340B program fundamentals.
- Awareness of relevant state and federal regulations governing 340B and associated billing procedures.
- Comfortable delivering findings and recommendations to senior leadership, including C-suite executives.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Pharmacy technician or pharmacist credentials are a plus.
