Early-stage venture capital firm Karlin Ventures is introducing a fellowship program, according to a statement released today. The program, entitled Karlin Fellows, is designed to foster mentorship for startup managers at the vice-president level.

Open both to companies within and outside its repertoire, Karlin Fellows will offer four master classes each year in topics including business development, marketing, engineering, and product management.

“We’re launching Karlin Fellows as a high-quality resource for the rising leaders of LA, who currently have no place to collaborate, brainstorm, and connect over the hard problems they’re facing every day,” Arteen Arabshah, Senior Associate at Karlin Ventures, said in a statement.

Sessions will be led by professionals in the tech industry, including Dan Macklin, co-founder and vice president of business development at SoFi, and Raja Subramoni, head of product marketing at Sonos. Each class will be open to 12 to 15 students, and the first session will take place in early summer of 2015, according to the company.

"It is truly an honor to be a part of the inaugural Karlin Fellows Program. This focus on the fostering of core leadership and management traits is a testament to Karlin's continued commitment to the talent-laden, burgeoning LA tech community,” said Subramoni in a statement.

Founded in 2013, Karlin Ventures invests in late-seed and early Series A rounds. Since its first investment in 2012, Karlin has funded 34 companies, with exits from gift-card management startup Gyft, coffee brewer Tonx, and credit-card payment service Wallaby.

The firm has a history of hosting events for startup professionals seeking funding and new hires, including its CIO Summit and LA First Look Retreat.
