Job Description
Bitkey sits within the Proto team. Proto's purpose is to accelerate the world's transition to a more open economy by making products that increase access and independence for everyone. The first two initiatives we've identified that represent the biggest impact to this purpose are in the Bitcoin space with Bitcoin mining and Bitkey, a self custody Bitcoin wallet. While we're starting there, we don't believe the need for tools to increase one's independence is limited to bitcoin or the financial space. One principle across everything we do in Proto is open development - show and tell. We develop products in the open , you can read more about them at bitkey.build and mining.build.
We are hiring Mobile Engineer to build the software that customers use to interact with our bitcoin wallet.
You will:

• Ship features in a new, beautiful, reliable, resilient, and open-source iOS | Android application
• Craft pixel-perfect, intuitive UI that makes ownership of bitcoin accessible to a global audience
• Make key architecture and infrastructure decisions as you develop the product from the ground up
• Work with with designers, product managers, firmware and backend engineers to establish product scope and to design and prioritize features
• Emphasize customer experience in all of your work, from early design to field observability and continuous improvement

Qualifications
You have:

• 6+ years of experience shipping features in world-class iOS and Android applications
• Experience with designing and building backend APIs for mobile applications to interact with
• Interest in the opportunities and challenges that come with building a new product area from the ground up

Bonus: Experience developing for bitcoin/cryptocurrency applications

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
