Company: Venice-based tech startup Porter is designing and building an enterprise application to run alongside its "uber for in-home services" conusmer app (which is free to download here).
The enterprise app, Porter For Hosts, is the first hotel hospitality product in the short-term rental space (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO, Homeway, etc.). Put simply, Porter does hotel-style room turnover -- cleaning, staging, and restocking -- for short-term rental properties across Los Angeles.

In this role you will weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help our users successfully navigate our products. We believe our products should be beautiful and accessible. As a Designer, you’ll delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite them. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across many platforms. You’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to constantly refine the Porter design language and create innovative, great-looking products that people love to use.
Responsibilities
- Create wireframes as well as visual design comps across multiple platforms
- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively
- Craft graphic elements, assets, and visual treatments that adapt and flow with responsive design systems
- Partner with front-end developers and create HTML and CSS-friendly designs
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, or a related field) OR equivalent practical experience
- Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
- A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, responsive design, as well as user interface patterns
- Two or more years of experience creating visually engaging and innovative web-based and mobile products
