Structural Engineer (Transportation)
As a Structural Engineer (Transportation) at Hyperloop One you will play a key role in developing the transportation system of the future. Your designs and analyses will be instrumental in developing a safe, cost effective and robust design.
Responsibilities:
- Developing tube and route structural systems
- Creating cost effective structural systems in compliance with regional codes and guidelines around the world
- Developing and analyzing structural models
- Detailed design of steel and concrete structures
- Determining the most efficient construction and installation operations
- Cost and schedule estimation in support of various route development activities
Requirements:
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or similar field
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Structural engineering
- Bridge design
- Tunnel design
- Significant experience with steel and reinforced concrete
- Significant experience with structural engineering software packages (SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and ANSYS)
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Preferences:
- Advanced degree (MS, MEng or PhD) in Civil or Structural Engineering, or similar field
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Significant experience with FEA tools
- Experience with composites or non-standard structural materials
- Experience with seismic isolation and/or damping devices
- Experience in the fabrication and/or installation of complex structures
- Design skills utilizing AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
