Summary

With the highly-acclaimed launch of our LGBTQ online magazine platform 'Into', Grindr is looking for an experienced Staff-Writer to bring cutting edge, cultural relevant editorial content to life. In this exciting role, you will be a conversation starter and thought leader. Your curiosity about wide- ranging topics from LGBTQ, Race, Gender, Fashion, etc. and how that affects Americans’ lives, will be key in driving the conversations that are relevant. The Staff Writer will develop creative content with smart, innovative stories that will engage and captivate our audience.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Editor-In-Chief, you will work together on curating the stories that will keep our audience interested and wanting to share with others.
• A curiosity for important topics that affect everyday life, including politics, race, gender, entertainment, fashion, travel, etc.
• Help cultivate a robust editorial calendar
• An interest in storytelling across genres (explainers, narrative, Q&As, etc.) and platforms (written, video, social, etc.)
• Maintain and work within budgetary guidelines
• Be able to work well with a team of other writers, publishers, etc.
• Work seamlessly and cross functionally with other team members
• Other duties as assigned

 Requirements

• BA in Writing/Journalism or similar field.
• Minimum 3+ years as a staff writer
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines
• Understanding of digital media publishing and audience development
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Must have interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
• Extremely organized and thorough.
