Position Overview:

We’re seeking a Back End Engineering Intern who is able to hit the ground running, learn, and bring their ideas and skills into DSC engineering.

This specific position will work within our Engineering team and partner closely with other software engineers, product managers, and designers to bring internal tools, customer-facing APIs, and other inventions to life with continuous delivery. In this role, you’ll be mentored and challenged by a core team of engineers and architects who have built a platform that serves over 2.5 million customers.

Responsibilities

Contribute to backend engineering projects including but not limited to:

• APIs for new customer-facing and internal tools
• Data aggregation for internal dashboards & control panels
• Developer tools and backend platform
• Triage and fix bugs throughout our system
• Help model data for new features or micro services

Skills and Experience

• Experience with a backend framework like Rails, Node, Phoenix, or Django
• Experience with a testing framework such as Rspec or minitest
• Knowledge of async frameworks like Sidekiq or Resque
• Knowledge of streaming/buses like Kinesis or Kafka
• Experience with Git workflow
• Experience with relational databases such as MySql or Postgres
• Proficiency with the Linux command line and CLIs
• Working toward a BS in Computer Science or related degree
