You’ll Report To: Sr. Manager, Social Media
A typical day as a Social Media Intern might include:
- Developing, writing and posting daily on social media outlets including, but not limited to Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit.
- Learning to develop social content that is optimized to engage with target audiences and social influencers.
- Monitor, listen, and respond to trends and specific users.
- Learn to create and analyze weekly social media reports.
- Collaborate and assist editorial team with thinking “social first” when creating content and campaigns.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of editorial and promotional strategy/calendar.
- Stay up-to-date with the evolving news and products related to social media platforms, channels and trends.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of social media and content marketing, and bring fresh perspective for new social strategies and ideas.
You’ll be successful if you possess the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, and vice versa, and demonstrates In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and the demographics for each.
What You Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications preferred.
- 1+ years’ experience working in social media marketing.
- Comfortable using major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+)
- Experience with Photoshop and Google Analytics preferred
- Experience with Live Streaming or social video preferred
- Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and multi-task/multi-project
- Not afraid to experiment
- Excited about and takes interest in lifestyles blogs and magazines with a can-diy attitude
- Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large
- We're casual and informal but we work hard and work responsibly. A pleasant and supportive demeanor goes a long way
