THE PURPOSE:The Hyperloop system involves many custom-developed embedded devices, each responsible for key subsystems. To ensure that all embedded systems are meeting requirements, are bug-free, and perform flawlessly in every situation, an Embedded Testing team is required to ensure this quality. The Senior Embedded Test Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the developing, executing, and reporting results for embedded tests. They will be responsible for working with the Systems Engineering team to integrate into Hyperloop’s Quality Management and Requirements Tracking Processes. They will work hand-in-hand with Embedded Design teams to create Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testbeds for individual components all the way up to full systems.
THE ROLE:The Senior Embedded Test Engineer will:
• Define and develop the tools and processes for the Embedded Test Lab.
• Utilize Requirements Tracking and Quality Management Tools to document progress.
• Develop testbed for Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests.
• Work with Propulsion, Levitation, Pod, and Power Electronics teams to understand Embedded Test needs.
• Create reporting tools to document progress on Embedded Test coverage.
THE CANDIDATE:The candidate for this role must exhibit technical leadership capabilities and work openly and collaboratively with others throughout the Hyperloop One organization. They must be a motivated self-starter who is experienced with creating and executing detailed projects when given a high-level vision. They must be able to contribute to the creation of and adherence to strict testing processes, procedures, and regulatory bodies.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other relevant Engineering Discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Embedded Testing.
• Strong understanding of HIL, SIL, and Real-Time testing concepts.
• Strong familiarity with HIL Software platforms (NI VeriStand preferred).
• Strong understanding of Data Acquisition and Signal Generation Concepts.
• Strong understanding of Signal Processing concepts.
• Track record of strong collaboration skills.
• Source Code Control experience using Git or similar tool.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline
• Familiarity with IBM’s Jazz Suite (Doors, Rhapsody, Quality Manager) or similar.
• Experience managing Embedded Test teams
• Experience working under a regulated industry with reporting requirements
• LabVIEW CLD or better
