The Senior Data Scientist will lead creation and enhancement of our capabilities around predictive analytics, machine learning and other industry leading methodologies to deliver unparalleled insights into the world of fandom. Equally as important, the Senior Data Scientist will establish best practices and mentor a growing team of data scientists.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead predictive analytics and machine learning efforts in the areas of customer behavior and preferences, as well as explore our data platform to uncover high-value insights.
  • Provide mentoring and constantly foster skill development for the data science team.
  • Automate and validate processes for predicting customer retention, long term (6-9 month) growth forecasting, optimal product mix selection and marketing optimization. 
  • Present findings to executive team and team leads in a clear and actionable way. 
  • Provide strategic recommendations for enhanced and continual data mining.

  • Creative, unbounded thinking to drive the creation of a best in class data platform.
  • Strong communication skills to elicit requirements, explain complex models and forecasts, and make recommendations grounded in data.
  • Natural curiosity and experimentation with new technologies and analysis methods.

 

Qualifications Needed:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience 
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical/scientific/analytical field, Master's Preferred.
  • Expert Level Experience with R and/or Python(pandas/numpy/scipy) 
  • Expertise in machine learning theories, including regression models, GLM, tree models, clustering, and recommendation systems. 
  • Expert Level Experience with practical probability and statistics. 
  • Experience analyzing large data sets in distributed environments (AWS, Unix VM clusters, Spark). GCP experience a plus.
  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable with relational databases.
  • Experience in e-commerce or retail is a strong plus. 
  • Enthusiasm for gaming, pop culture, and anything geek a strong plus. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Detail oriented with good interpersonal skills and ability to work as an effective team member with a broad array of people from multiple departments. 
  • Effective presentation and communications skills. 
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing business.
