Senior Credit and Risk Analyst

The Senior Credit & Risk Analyst role is perfect for somebody who wants to combine analytical skills with high business impact. You will report to the Credit & Risk Analytics Manager, and also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with professionals across the company to make decisions that directly impact our customers’ lives. Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Credit Product: Optimize credit product terms and credit strategy to improve the customer fit and profitability of our credit product offerings
- Credit Risk Analysis: Develop improvements in credit strategy by relating historical patterns to future consumer credit behavior
- Test-and-Learn: Validate credit hypotheses in a test-and-learn environment using rigorous methodologies, monitoring, and analysis
- Financial modeling: Build financial and NPV models for different customer segments to utilize in credit decisioning and portfolio monitoring
- Accountability & Execution: Execute on credit product strategy; Implement multiple initiatives or deployments concurrently; “Devil is in the details” attitude toward execution
- Analytical Powerhouse: Proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics; strong quantitative orientation complemented by conceptual thinking and customer-orientation
- Cross-functionality: Consider problems from all angles, including those outside your immediate expertise by bringing in subject matter experts as necessary
- Executive Communication Skills: Impeccable written and oral communication skills, and the ability to make data-driven recommendations to management team
- Results-Oriented: Intensely focus on achieving short term and long term goals; able to attain measurable results in an uncertain and fluid environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantitative field such as Math/Statistics, Finance, Engineering, or Economics
- 1-3 years unsecured consumer/small business loan or credit line management analytics, particularly within deep subprime segments
- Strong analytical and technical skills (SQL, Excel), with experience working with very large datasets
- Some experience with big data platforms or programming (Python, Machine Learning, Hadoop, R, SAS)
- Strong verbal written and communication skills, strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously under tight timelines
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to change and re-prioritize
Preferred Qualifications:
- Living or working experience in emerging markets (specifically East Africa, SE Asia/Philippines, Latin America)
- Experience with Android app technology or telecom
